(male announcer) this is the bay area news station, kron 4 news starts now.breaking news right now on kron4. a long-time youth baseball coach just released from jail on bail. and our cameras were there. it comes just hours after he turned himself in. he's accused of molesting and video-taping young teens. tonight kron4 is there live. i'm catherine heenan. the news at five is next! breaking news at five. this is joel kaufman walking out of the contra costa county jail in martinez. he was bailed out -- but he's not answering questions. >> did you victimize these >> catherine: kron4's j-r is live tonight at the jail. j-r you were there when he was released, what do we do know? >> reporter: he is accused

of three felonies and charged with crimes this weekend. he finally turned himself in it this morning. hes a baseball coach in oakland. he also owns batting cages and coaches in the east bay. here is some of my conversation with him in the last hour. >> reporter: the view molest those children to you have anything to say to these for children do victimize or molested these children? and you have a chance to talk and you have nothing to say? no response. they say that you molested this teenager and penetration into a drug teenager. you are a baseball coach and you have nothing to say about this? the bail amount was $325,000. he will face a

judge in the coming days. j.r. stone, kron 4 news. >> catherine: developing tongiht out of san jose. police are on the hunt for the person who stabbed a woman to death. this happened just before three on north first, at west hedding streets. this is video from our helicopter partnership with abc7 news.e times. the victim was stabbed multiple times. now here is a map of the area. the stabbing took place in a parking lot outside of an apartment complex. police shut down nearby streets and were looking for him in the area. no word on a motive yet. >> a rockslide on highway 101 in sausalito left a man hurt, and severely damaged his s-u-v. it happened just before 5- am. one of the biggest boulders was three feet by three feet. a kron4 morning crew was there live on the scene just minutes afterwards.as the hillside was still settling. and >> reporter: we hear some of these rocks coming down right now. they are coming

she told police one boy shot her in the leg and shot her 13-month-old son antonio in the head, killing him while he slept in his stroller. >> "i took him out of the harness and tried to perform cpr. i saw his lungs inflating but he was not breathing." >> reporter: law enforcement arrested two teenage suspects. a 14-year-old who isn't being named because of his age-- and 17-year-old demarquis elkins, who is considered an adult under georgia law. police say today is bittersweet for the brunswick community. >> "bitter because of the occurences of yesterday and we all know what that is. but it's sweet to know that we have two arrests of the persons who committed this horrendous act." >> reporter: antonio's father visited the crime scene friday, visibly emotional. a makeshift memorial in his baby's memory has emerged on the sidewalk. back at home, antonio's toys are still scattered around the living room. >> "he was so special, had the bluest, bluest eyes."

(male announcer) this is the bay area news station, kron 4 news starts now. we have been telling you about this developing story in the san jose rob fladeboe is on the phone with us. rob? >> reporter: kathryn i can tell you that this happened about 3:30 in this parking lot near a restaurant. this is right across the street from the sheriff's department, believe it or not. and the information i have is that there was an argument with a man and woman in a parking lot at the staff for several times. she was rushed to hospital and pronounced dead. there is a manhunt near first avenue. they have police

road is known as devil's slide. the highway here has been plagued for decades by falling rocks and unstable ground, but on of march 26th this mile and half long stretch of roadway will be permanently closed to traffic. and cars traveling on highway one will be re- routed through a pair of twin tunnels that bypass devils slide altogether. to the north, highway one will closed down here and traffic will be transferred onto a pair of new bridges that lead to and from the tunnels.. which enter the mountain here... each tunell will have a single 12 foot wide travel lane with shoulders on each side. once cars enter the tunnels they will travel about 4/5ths of mile underneath this mountain before reconnecting with highway one on the other side, completely bypassing the old roadway. the bypass tunnels have been 8 years in the making with a price tag of 439 millions dollars. in the newsroom, charles clifford kron 4 news. >> a warm day in the bay area.

an anxious and stress- filled close at aragon high school in san mateo. fladeboe reports -- the campus remains on alert in the wake of a threat against the school. >> reporter: in the end the threat turned out to be just that, a threat. but police continue to watch over the high school just the same. in the wake of a threat made on social media this week, some parents kept their kids away on thursday but that did not appear to be the case on friday as parents took comfort in the extra security measures. believe was it scary any time there is a threat people have to take it seriously. >> de is reassuring to make sure that there are several police even under cover. >> indeed, there were police on foot early friday and police cruisers could be seen patroling the school perimeter and parking lots throughout the day. some parents, like sonia paz, formed a watch group of their own vowing not to be intimidated by such threats.
